A growing reporting landscape became harder to navigate.
De Watergroep is a public utility for water distribution in Flanders. It manages a regional pipeline network of roughly 34,000 km.
Its reporting landscape kept growing and included a self-service BI platform. Colleagues needed a reliable way to find the right report, while the analytics team needed to prevent duplicate reports and multiple versions of the same information.
02Unified report catalog
A central catalog for every report.
dScribe was first rolled out as the central search and documentation portal for reports in SAP BusinessObjects and SAP Analytics Cloud. The structured inventory lets the analytics team identify duplicate, old, or incorrect report versions, so decisions can be based on the same data.

From reports to an overall data inventory.
The scope later expanded to include Databricks, creating an overall inventory of reports and data models at De Watergroep. The team also uses the dScribe glossary to harmonize data definitions, KPIs, and business terminology.
